Alisa Shikova
Berlin, Germany
Alisa Shikova (b. 1997, Podolsk, Russia) is a visual and tattoo artist living and working in Berlin. Her background and connection to nature are central to her practice, inviting the audience to appreciate her personal journey and her connection to the natural world. Her work is shaped by a recurring sense of loss, which she seeks to navigate and to reconnect with through her art, fostering empathy and understanding. Using organic forms and intuitive processes, Shikova explores themes of memory, fragility, and the relationship between the present moment and nature, both as a place of origin and a place of return. Winter Garden marks the artist's debut exhibition.Alisa will be part of the exhibition "Winter Garder ", which marks the artist's debut exhibition with the series title: State of Preservation»This body of work consists of oil paintings and a site-specific installation presented as a single entity. The series explores preservation as a state of inner endurance rather than emotional expression. Organic forms and a restrained colour palette function as carriers of tension, holding processes of transformation without urgency or resolution.

Artist Statement
Mother of Mothers
Mother of Mothers draws on the archetype of the Great Mother — nurturing and devouring, tender and animal. The works explore protection, vulnerability, and the instinctive forms of care that exist somewhere between the body, memory, and myth.
_______
every bite of the cold tile against your skin
every little finger you became just to hide
every time, she was there
she stood over you, beneath you, inside you, outside you
she pitied you, fed you, cried with you, cried for you, cried
bared her teeth for you, bit for you, loved you
